Alan Chan, the Creative Director of “ALGO-” seeks to transport those who step into his garments to create escapist opportunities for individuals to feel wonder, play, and freedom. Escapists and daydreamers are invited into his world of deconstructed science fantasy through anatomical design and engineering.

Today, Alan continues his practice within the medium of fashion design. Exploring binary relationships and how algorithmic planes of thinking contribute to structuring ones perception of the world. Throughout his practice while creating he considers and pulls from the following…

  • Deconstruction & Inversion (things that resemble other things in an unexpected format, interpretation, environment, etc.)

  • Surrealistic Sci-Fi (futuristic augmentations to lifestyle/biology)

  • High Fantasy (magic, fantastical objects, mythical animals)

  • Industrial/Cityscape Imagery (scaffolding, warehouses, skyscrapers)
